How to sign in (web & mobile)
To sign in to Robinhood:
- Open robinhood.com on desktop and click Log in, or open the Robinhood app on your phone.
- Enter the email address tied to your account and your password.
- If prompted, complete a second step (passkey, SMS code, or authenticator verification).
Tip: You can choose "Keep me logged in" on trusted devices for quicker access (use cautiously on shared computers).
Passkeys & Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Robinhood supports modern sign-in methods like passkeys and standard two-factor methods. If you enable 2FA, you'll add an extra verification step (an authenticator app or SMS) that greatly reduces the risk of unauthorized access.
Forgot password & account recovery
If you forget your password:
- Use the Forgot password link on the login page to request a reset email.
- Follow the email link to create a new password — choose a strong, unique passphrase you don’t use elsewhere.
- If you no longer have access to the email tied to your account, follow the account recovery instructions inside the app or contact Support.
Common login problems & quick fixes
- Wrong email or password: Double-check for typos and make sure Caps Lock is off.
- No authentication code: If using an authenticator app, ensure the device time is synced; resend codes if needed.
- App or web errors: Clear the app cache, update the app, or try a different browser/private window.
- Locked or frozen account: If Robinhood detects suspicious activity, it may temporarily lock access — follow on-screen instructions or contact support.
Security reminder: Robinhood will never ask for your password via email or pressure you into urgent action. Report suspicious messages to verified support channels.
Contacting Robinhood Support
For persistent problems that the steps above don’t fix, contact Robinhood Support via the app (Account → Menu → Robinhood Support) or the Help Center. Be prepared to verify identity (email, phone, or government ID) as requested by the support team.
Final checklist before signing in
- Confirm you’re on the official site or app before entering credentials.
- Enable passkeys or 2FA for stronger protection.
- Keep your recovery email and phone number up to date in account settings.
If you're locked out and suspect fraud, report it immediately and follow the support team's steps to secure your account.
